Using antimicrobials in everyday wound care

Using antimicrobials in everyday wound care

Welcome to 2025. Wishing you all a year of good health, safety, learning and fulfilment. As members of the Woundieverse, our combined mission is to assist those with hard-to-heal wounds experience a better quality of life. So it is that we begin this new year with a dear mentor, colleague and friend – Jan Rice AM.

Jan is an Australian wound management consultant who has a knack for sharing information in a very real and relatable way. You can just imagine yourself standing beside her in a clinical setting, with a patient before you and a wound under review. The use of antimicrobials is a huge subject and Jan’s short message is designed to stimulate inquiry, discussion and reflection. If you were to explain how you use antimicrobials, what would you say?
